"The Creation of Adam" on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel by Michelangelo Buonarroti

God stands for order, peace and rest.  The devil sows discord and chaos.  The Lord wants us to be full of joy; but the enemy wants us to be afraid (see 1 John 4:18, Luke 1:74, Isaiah 41:10 and Joshua 1:6, among others).  That's why you see so much crime and violence on your evening news.  It's planned that way in order to scare you.
Below you will find stories about good news to raise your spirit.  They are not all about the "Good News," but I believe that they were all authored by our Lord.
Be of good cheer!

  • "Leap of Faith," a story from the October 21, 2007 Washington Post Magazine describes a Spirit-filled former police officer's efforts to change the lives of juvenile offenders in an unique outward bound-type program

  • "Class Questions," a Washington Post Magazine story from 8/6/06 examines one student's difficult life choices after taking a groundbreaking class at conservative Washington and Lee University that attempts to open the eyes of young, wealthy students to the poverty around them and motivate them to take action

  • "It's the Deity Dude," a Washington Post book review of "How Religious Colleges and the Missionary Generation are Changing America" that supports the idea that teaching youth about God has positive results
